Announcement of Travel Grant approvals will be sent by e-mail from the congress secretariat

  • The announcement contains detailed information on your visa application, accommodation, and registration for the congress.
  • Those who submitted more than one abstract will receive the Travel Grant for only one person.

■ How to submit abstracts

■ When to submit abstracts

■ Abstract submission guidelines
1. Abstract restrictions
    One abstract per presenter, with the exception of co-presenters.
Multiple abstract submissions from a single organization are welcome.

2. Information to submit
  Language of presentation: English
  Presentation format: oral or poster presentation
  Principal presenter and co-presenter names: No more than 20 presenters
  Principal presenter and co-presenter affiliations: No more than 10 affiliations
  Abstract title: No more than 80 halfwidth letters in English
  Abstract
  Abstracts should be submitted in English.
    Abstracts should be no more than1,600 halfwidth letters in English.
  The abstract should be divided into succinct sections for "Purpose," "Methods,""Results," and "Conclusions." There is no need for line breaks after headings.
  Incomplete abstracts (i.e. abstracts with typos, with missing letters/words,lacking concrete numbers, without "Purpose," "Methods," "Results," and "Conclusions" sections, etc.) will not be accepted, so please be especially careful when preparing abstracts for submission.

3. Guidelines for ethical considerations
  Depending on the nature of the research to be presented, it may be necessary to adhere to ethical guidelines (for clinical research, human genome/genetic analysis research, immunological research, clinical research using human stem cells, etc.) established by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare or other agencies, as well as the ethical rules (including those for animal research, etc.) set forth by presenters' affiliations, and to seek prior review and approval from their institution's ethical review boards, etc. For further information, please see "Ethical Considerations in Abstracts for the Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Neurology"

4. Guidelines for abstract contents
Submitted abstracts will be peer-reviewed so please avoid any mention of your affiliation in the body of your abstract.

When referring to drugs by name, please be certain to use the generic name.

Please report the actual number of cases and/or laboratory animals/test specimens at the time of the experiment.

In principle, General Session Abstracts should not report on single cases. However, upon review, such a presentation may be accepted if the case has been substantively examined from a symptomological and scientific perspective.

If the content infringes upon patients' personal information, informed consent must be obtained from the patient or their representative and the presentation must carefully avoid identifying any individuals. We prohibit presentations that include information, such as hospitalization dates or age, that could be used to identify individuals.

5. Others
The office will not request revisions for accepted abstracts. Submitted abstracts will appear as accepted in Clinical Neurology (vol. 55, issue Supplement). Revisions to abstracts after the annual meeting will not be accepted, so please prepare your abstracts with care.

The registration ID number and password are automatically generated, and sent to the first author by E-mail. You can view/edit/delete abstract at any time until the final deadline.


Disclosures of conflicts of interest
To promote appropriate forms of collaborative clinical research between industry and academia and ensure neutrality and transparency in presentations on clinical research findings based on sound science and ethics, all presenters are expected to disclose any "conflicts of interest" (COI).
When submitting proposals, please select "yes" or "no" in the field for "Do you have any conflicts of interest?" on the screen. If "yes," then please download and fill out the COI application form and send it to The Japanese Society of Neurology Secretariat office (jsn-office@gol.com) as an e-mail attachment no later than December 12 (Friday), 2014. Technical questions regarding conflicts of interest should be directed to the society office as well.


■ Information for Speakers
Oral presentations
1. PC projectors are available for use.
2. Video projectors are not available, but video can be projected from PCs.
3. Presentation data must be provided on media (USB flash memory or CD-R). In the case of video, please bring your own PC.
4. Presentations should adhere to ethical rules of research as well as rules for protecting personal information.
5. Whether or not a presenter has any conflicts of interest, they must include a conflict-of-interest disclosure slide in their presentation. Please use "Form 4-A" or "Form 4-B."


Poster presentations
1. The anticipated size of poster panels is 210 cm tall × 90 cm wide. The Congress Secretariat will prepare the panel with only the presentation number at the top. Presenters are responsible for writing the presentation title, presenter name(s), and affiliation(s) horizontally within a 20 cm by 70 cm space.
2. In large, easy-to-understand language, the posters should present the Main Points as well as the Purpose, Methods, Results, and Discussion, all in that order. Text should be written in a large font that can be read from a distance of two to three meters, while diagrams should be at least 20 cm on a side and include a title and brief explanation.
3. The panels cannot be written or drawn on directly, nor can items be glued to them.
4. Pins to attach posters to the panels will be provided at the conference.
5. The schedule, etc. for poster presentations will be announced after notifications of abstract acceptance have been made.
6. Presentations should adhere to ethical rules of research as well as rules for protecting personal information.
7. Whether or not a presenter has any conflicts of interest, they must include a conflict-of-interest disclosure statement in their presentation. Please use "Form 4-C."


■ Travel Grant
The Japanese Society of Neurology encourages neurologists in other countries to submit abstracts on clinical studies and basic research in the oral and poster presentation. If Travel grant is approved, part of travel expenses and registration fee of the Congress will be covered by the Society. After confirming the instructions below, please choose “apply” when you submit the abstract.
Deadline of application for Travel Grant
Noon, December 8 (Monday), 2014 (Japan Standard Time)
To applicants
  1. Neurologists or neurology residents applied from other countries other than Japan and neurologists or neurology residents studying or working in Japan are eligible. Only one abstract per applicant is acceptable.
  2. Applications are accepted only through online registration.
  3. An applicant must be the first author and presenter of the submitted abstract.
  4. The Society will cover maximum 100,000 Japanese yen of your travel fee for 100 attendants travelling from other countries other than Japan. The Society will cover maximum 50,000 Japanese yen of your travel fee for 50 attendants studying or working in Japan. The congress registration fee for applicants will be discount price of 3,000 Japanese yen. Please note that complimentary accommodation will not be offered, and all arrangement of applicant's transportation to the venue and accommodation during the congress period will be applicant's responsibility.
  5. Please note that the applicant will be responsible for meeting visa requirements and processing the visa for entry to Japan. Please check the details of visa requirements at the page of Visa application.
  6. Reviewing result will be announced individually by E-mail.
